Interview with Alicia from Oh My Good Guide: Local Guide in Málaga
Are you traveling to Málaga and want to experience the city like a local?
Then you should consider booking a tour with Oh My Good Guide!
Alicia, the owner and founder of Oh My Good Guide, is a trained architect and born-and-bred Andalusian, who decided to turn her deep love for Málaga into something travelers could actually feel.
After years of living abroad and returning home with fresh eyes, she set out to create highly personal, story-driven tours that go far beneath the surface of the city, connecting visitors not just with the sights but with the soul of Málaga.
When I was in Malaga at the end of April, I joined the Malaga Highlights Tour with Alicia from Oh My Good Guide, and it honestly felt like experiencing Malaga with an old friend with extensive knowledge of the city and plenty of great stories.
Alicia is super sweet and friendly, and has excellent English, so you don’t need to worry about knowing Spanish!
In this interview post, I’m giving Alicia the floor to share her story and what Oh My Good Guide in Málaga is really all about!
Let’s get started!

Get to Know Alicia From Oh My Good Guide
Alright, here are just a few things before we get started with the interview with Alicia.
A guided tour of a city is, of course, nothing new. But what I really liked about Alicia’s tour was that it was informative yet very personal.
With my blog, I hope to inspire you to discover different parts of Spain and immerse yourself in Spanish culture.
This new interview series (because hopefully there will be some more interviews later!), I want to give a voice to small local businesses and initiatives to share their story and inspire you to visit them on your trip to Spain.

Interview with Alicia from Oh My Good Guide: Local Experiences in Malaga
In this small interview-style post, you will learn more about Alicia, the founder of Oh My Good Guide, a local tour guide from Malaga, the story behind Oh My Good Guide, and many more reasons why you should choose Oh My Good Guide as your tour guide in Malaga!
Let’s get under the skin of Oh My Good Guide with Alicia!
Hola! Tell us a little about yourself!
¡Hola, Becci! I’m Alicia, the founder of Oh My Good Guide. I started the company back in 2018 with the idea of sharing Spain, and especially Malaga, in a more authentic and personal way.
I’m an official guide, passionate about flamenco, gastronomy, wine, and of course the history and soul of southern Spain.
At Oh My Good Guide, we create experiences that go beyond the typical tour. We want people to really feel Málaga, not just see it.
What inspired you to start Oh My Good Guide?
I’ve always loved storytelling and connecting with people from different cultures.
I studied Architecture, and I went to live and work abroad. After living in Italy, Austria, and the Czech Republic, and after a long trip in Latin America, I decided to return home to Spain. Still, I wanted to keep that intercultural exchange alive!
I knew that Malaga was a perfect place to keep meeting people from all over the world. As soon as I arrived, I saw that the city was full of international visitors, but most of them were only seeing the surface of the city. So, I decided to do something about it!
I started offering very personal small group tours and creative activities where people could connect with the local culture through food, local stories, art, traditions, and real moments.
And that’s how Oh My Good Guide was born: from the idea that travel should feel immersive, authentic, and full of cultural exchange.
How would you describe Oh My Good Guide to somebody visiting Málaga for the first time?
I would say it’s like exploring Málaga with a local friend who knows all the best spots – not just the famous ones, but the hidden gems too.
Our tours and creative activities are relaxed, social, and full of stories.
You’ll taste amazing food, discover places you wouldn’t find on your own, and learn about the culture in a way that feels fun and natural.

Why should someone take a tour or do an activity with Oh My Good Guide on their trip to Málaga?
Because we offer more than just a tour! At Oh My Good Guide, we create an experience.
We keep our groups small and personal, we carefully select every stop, and genuinely care about each guest.
Whether it’s our flamenco, tapas, and wine tour, a cultural walk, a market visit, or even a photography or art workshop, we’ll help you understand the why behind what you see, eat, do, and experience.
That is what really transforms your trip!
What is the best part of running Oh My Good Guide? And the worst?
The best part is definitely the people. Every day I meet travelers from all over the world, and I love seeing their reactions when they discover something new.
Every day, I also learn something new from them. As we keep our tours and activities small and personal, there is room for an enriching intercultural exchange, and that’s so fulfilling for me!
The worst part… probably the behind-the-scenes work! Running a business means a lot of logistics, coordination, and constant problem-solving. But in the end, it’s all worth it 🙂

What are you most excited about right now with your business?
I’m really excited about continuing to refine our experiences and collaborating with local artists, small venues, and businesses.
We’re always looking for ways to make our tours even more unique!
I’m also really happy to be doing many customized tours in Malaga, many off-the-beaten-path visits, and day trips to other Southern Spain cities like Seville, Granada, Cordoba, Ronda, or Marbella.
What is your favorite place in Málaga? What makes it such a special place?
That’s always a difficult question!
But I would say the Gibralfaro viewpoint at sunset.
From there, you can get the best views of the city of Malaga and its beautiful coastline from a privileged position, surrounded by nature.

What are your plans for the future?
I want to keep growing, but in a sustainable and personal way. Maintaining quality and authenticity is very important to me.
We are planning on expanding to cities I know very well, like Granada and Seville.
We’re also exploring new experiences in Malaga, combining local life, drawing workshops, wine tastings, language immersion activities, and team building events, so the future looks exciting, full of plans and discoveries!
Where can we learn more about you?
You can always find us on our website: https://ohmygoodguide.com
On social media, where we share daily moments from Málaga, our tours, and local life:
