The country offers everything from cosmopolitan cities over raw wilderness in Patagonia and villages nested between colorful mountains. When planning your trip to Argentina, it can be hard to decide where to go. And when you have decided where to, you, of course, also need to decide how long you need at each place.  I have been around and about in Argentina during my seven years of living in Buenos Aires. All You Need to Know about Peninsula Valdés, Argentina

    August 10, 2023 /

Peninsula Valdés is a remarkable UNESCO World Heritage site located in the northern part of Argentina’s Patagonia region. The area is renowned for its unique biodiversity and wildlife. At Peninsula Valdés, you can experience everything from penguins, sea lions, and elephant seals to orcas and whales! Along the roads, you might also be lucky to see the llama-looking guanaco, a Patagonian cavy, many different kinds of birds, and the Patagonian long-haired armadillo. Seeing all these animals in their natural habitat is a truly amazing experience. One of my all-time favorite experiences in Argentina was swimming with sea lions. If you get a chance to try it, I wholeheartedly recommend it.…

San Carlos de Bariloche – or simply Bariloche – is a mountain town located in the northern part of Argentina’s Patagonia region. Bariloche is famous for its German influence, its chocolate, and its beautiful mountain landscapes. The area surrounding Bariloche is known as Argentina’s Lake District because of the many beautiful lakes surrounded by mountains. Bariloche itself is located by the southern shore of the massive Nahuel Huapi Lake. In the wintertime, Bariloche is a popular destination for skiing and other winter sports. While in the spring and summer, the mountains are ideal for hikes, trekking, and camping. In this post, I wanted to share some of the activities and…

☀️👣 Have you heard about Camí de Ronda in ☀️👣 Have you heard about Camí de Ronda in Costa Brava?☀️👣

Along the coastline of the Spanish Costa Brava (north of Barcelona), you will Camí de Ronda or Camino de Ronda.

Camí de Ronda is a small trail that runs on the outside of the cliffs along the coast ☀️👣

In the 19th century, the trails were used by Spanish military forces to control the coastline and try to stop any smuggling ☀️👣

All the way up until the 1940s and the 1950s, the Camí de Ronda was used for border controls and smugglers to bring additional supplies into the struggling Spanish market ☀️👣

However, the trails lost there importance over the years as the Spanish economy improved and Spain eventually entered the EU in 1986 ☀️👣

Today, most of the old trails of Camí de Ronda are open to the public. They are popular among tourists for getting between the many beaches and coves along the Costa Brava coastline and for the astonishing views over the sea. The trails are also frequently used by runners and hikers for their challenging rises and falls on the cliffs ☀️👣

Have you ever heard about Camí de Ronda? ☀️👣

☀️🇪🇸 Summer at Costa Brava ☀️🇪🇸

Costa Brava is the name of the coastline north of Barcelona in the Spanish Catalonia region. Costa Brava stretches from the town of Blanes all the way up to the French-Spanish border 🇪🇸☀️

Costa Brava consists of smaller coastal towns, crystal clear water, beautiful beaches, and coves 🇪🇸☀️

Costa Brava is a popular vacation spot for both local Barcelones and international tourists (primarily French) 🇪🇸☀️

The train from Barcelona to Blanes takes just around 2 hours. However, if you need to go further up the cost on Costa Brava to visit some of the other cities, you would have to rely on local busses, renting a car, or paying for a taxi 🇪🇸☀️

Have you ever visited Costa Brava? ☀️🇪🇸

🇪🇸🇦🇷 5 things I have noted moving from 🇪🇸🇦🇷 5 things I have noted moving from Argentina to Spain 🇦🇷🇪🇸

1 - The cars stop for you! 🇦🇷🇪🇸
The car drivers in Barcelona stops for you when you want to cross the street. This might seem like a small thing but coming from 7 years of living in Buenos Aires, it is not!! In Buenos Aires, the cars never stop for you! And you should never ever cross the street without triple checking that there are no cars!

2 - The buses are so quiet! 🇦🇷🇪🇸
In Buenos Aires, the buses are old vehicles and they make a terrible loud noise. In Barcelona, the buses are modern and hard make any noise! It’s one of those small pleasures in life, haha.

3 - The people are more relaxed 🇦🇷🇪🇸
The economic situation is really affecting people’s attitude and well-being in Buenos Aires. I was going nuts before leaving about bad customer service and aggressive people. Barcelona has so far been a nice break from that 😅

4 - The delivery brings your package to your door step 🇦🇷🇪🇸
In Buenos Aires, if you live in an apartment and when get a package or food delivered, you have to go down to the street level to pick it up. In Barcelona, the delivery guy brings the package up to you! SO nice when you are working a job where you are constantly in calls!

4 - There are SO many Argentines 🇦🇷🇪🇸
There are so so many Argentines in Barcelona that it’s crazy! I know I’m from a small country and there is a natural limit on how many Danes you can meet around the globe, but it’s impressive how many Argentine you run into in Barcelona!!

✅ 🇦🇷 Top 10 Activities in Buenos Aires - 1 ✅ 🇦🇷 Top 10 Activities in Buenos Aires - 10: Palermo ✅ 🇦🇷

Palermo is the biggest neighborhood in Buenos Aires, and it was definitely an area of Buenos Aires I had to learn to like (and there are still parts of it I'm not a fan of, haha) ✅ 🇦🇷

In Palermo, you will find many different bars and restaurants, and trendy shops. A popular place to visit in Palermo is the area around the square Plaza Serrano. On weekends, there is a local market on Plaza Serrano selling clothes and accessories ✅ 🇦🇷

But Palermo is also a great place for experiencing some of the excellent street art that Buenos Aires has to offer ✅ 🇦🇷

Palermo is a great place to wander around in and get a bit more of an everyday feeling of Buenos Aires. While the city center offers many great attractions, it is not really a place where locals hang out outside working hours. In Palermo, you will get a more local experience - and it is also one of the safest areas in Buenos Aires ✅ 🇦🇷

Do you like to get more local experiences when traveling? ✅ 🇦🇷

✅ 🇦🇷 Top 10 Activities in Buenos Aires - 9 ✅ 🇦🇷 Top 10 Activities in Buenos Aires - 9: Puerto Madero ✅ 🇦🇷

Puerto Madero is the old harbor area in Buenos Aires which has been modernized, and now it is an exclusive area with many international companies and high-end restaurants ✅ 🇦🇷

In Puerto Madero, you will find the famous Buenos Aires landmark: Puente de la Mujer, or translated the woman’s bridge ✅ 🇦🇷

Just behind Puerto Madero, you can find the city's largest natural reserve, Reserva Ecológica, which is great for a break from the bustling city ✅ 🇦🇷

✅🇦🇷 Top 10 Activities in Buenos Aires - 8: ✅🇦🇷 Top 10 Activities in Buenos Aires - 8: Floralis Genérica ✅🇦🇷

This impressive aluminum sculpture of a flower is by far one of my favorite landmarks in Buenos Aires ✅🇦🇷

The flower sculpture is located in Recoleta, close to the Recoleta Cemetery. The entrance to the park where it is located is completely free of charge ✅🇦🇷

The sculpture is supposed to open and close according to the time of the day but this function has been broken for some time 😅✅🇦🇷

Would you visit Floralis Genérica on a trip to Buenos Aires? ✅🇦🇷
